Women are already in combat and those female soldiers who do want combat currently go for the military police ranks. Since this is another push by the social engineering police of the left I think there should be another caveat added to this change in policy.

If all the barriers to women in combat are to be removed then women should also be required to register with the Selective Service at age 18 just like males. If you want there to be no differences between the sexes in the military remove all physical requirement differences.

Wars force US military to review ban on women in combat

WASHINGTON (AFP) – US commanders are taking a second look at policies that bar women from ground combat, as the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have thrust female soldiers into the thick of the fight.

The Army chief of staff, General George Casey, told lawmakers last week that it was time to review the rules in light of how women have served in the two wars.

When the fuss started to come out on the whining by the French, American relatives(no link,heard and seen on Fox News) and Haitian’s I heard about this statement by Lt. Gen Honore and it all started to make sense. Typical Obama, put a bureaucrat in charge!

The focus on security was criticized by retired lieutenant general Russell Honore, who led the military relief effort on the Gulf Coast after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Honore said the U.S. response has been too slow in part because the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has taken the lead, rather than the military. He said U.S. forces aren’t bound by as many rules and could have set up landing strips to deliver aid quickly.

“I say when you have people dying, getting food and water on the ground should end any talk of security,” he said.

Some helicopters did drop food in the capital, but it caused “a lot of chaos, fighting and scrambling for food,” said Maj. George Hood of the Salvation Army.

USAID chief Rajiv Shah said 130,000 “meals ready to eat” were handed out Saturday but the need was much larger. “We’re really trying to address it,” he said.

The waiting for aid to filter through Haiti was causing anger among some.

Of course they are not on the trail of any Islamic extremists, only Christian Bible passages. Brian Ross, that tippy toppy investigative reporter found a code on rifle sights supplied to the military which references a Bible passage. Oh my, can’t get anything by Brian Ross unless of course it would be let’s say a radical Islamist.

At the end of the serial number on Trijicon’s ACOG gun sight, you can read “JN8:12″, a reference to…(ABC News)

Trijicon confirmed to ABCNews.com that it adds the biblical codes to the sights sold to the U.S. military. Tom Munson, director of sales and marketing for Trijicon, which is based in Wixom, Michigan, said the inscriptions “have always been there” and said there was nothing wrong or illegal with adding them. Munson said the issue was being raised by a group that is “not Christian.” The company has said the practice began under its founder, Glyn Bindon, a devout Christian from South Africa who was killed in a 2003 plane crash.

I’m sure there will be multiple Congressional hearings called on this since it’s fair game to go after anything Christian.

Obama isn’t exactly batting 1000 here – Little Rock Recruiting office shooting,mirandizing of detainees in Afghanistan, Fort Hood attack, SEAL team prosecution, dithering over Afghanistan troop increase,Gitmo detainees out of military tribunals and into NYC Courts, and now this!

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed “great regret” in August that the U.S. is not a signatory to the International Criminal Court (ICC). This has fueled speculation that the Obama administration may reverse another Bush policy and sign up for what could lead to the trial of Americans for war crimes in The Hague.

The ICC’s chief prosecutor, though, has no intention of waiting for Washington to submit to the court’s authority. Luis Moreno Ocampo says he already has jurisdiction—at least with respect to Afghanistan.

I have a bad feeling that we are going to be seeing a lot of folks claiming that our forces have roughed them up. First of all it is right in the al Qaeda training manual. They are told to start whining early and often that they were tortured or otherwise abused. We saw last week that the guys scarfed up by our SEALs complained about a fat lip. Did it happen? Did he do it to himself? We don’t know, but we know they are taught to make the claim. Today we read that two Afghans are claiming they were “tortured” in the Spec Ops holding facility at Bagram Air Base in AStan.

Wonder if this ICC prosecutor has bothered to check out Al-Queda’s very own torture manual?

Each drawing in the manual is more horrific than the last!
