68 Years Later – Attack on Pearl Harbor

It’s the 68th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. There were 2,350 people killed and the attack drew the United States into World War II. Our WWII Veterans are quickly dying away, one way to read their stories is to go to the Pearl Harbor Survivors Project.

Al Bodenlos’ Story:

Early in the morning on December 7th at the Army-Navy YMCA, loudspeakers ordered all military personnel to report to their organizations immediately. Al dutifully caught the Schofield Shuttle. When the bus neared the shores of Pearl Harbor, all hell was breaking loose. M.P.’s stopped and stormed the shuttle and ordered everyone to get off and to take cover immediately. Al then Iearned that the harbor was under attack and the Japanese pilots were shooting anything moving. Al recalls that the planes were flying so low that you could see the faces of the pilots. They shot at but missed the shuttle by inches, bullets whizzed all around and everyone dove for safety into a nearby ditch. Al was scared and witnessed the horror of the tragedy developing in the harbor. He vividly remembers the USS Arizona blowing up and the USS Oklahoma rolling over as he helplessly watched other ships sink to the harbor floor.

The attack appeared to end, so everyone re-boarded the shuttle and proceeded to Schofield Barracs. The second wave started when Al arrived at his unit. The 804th was already deployed at all five military airfields. Al was also the Company courier, and he delivered messages from the command post by motorcycle to the airfields for two full days with no rest. He spent the rest of the war island hopping, building and repairing airfields captured from the Japanese. His faith pulled him through.

If you have a relative or friend who is a survivor of Pearl Harbor get their story added to this database for future generations and history.

Will Obama allow International Criminal Court to prosecute our troops?

Maybe Glenn Beck wasn’t wrong in advising his nephew to not re-enlist. Obama isn’t exactly batting 1000 here – Little Rock Recruiting office shooting, mirandizing of detainees in Afghanistan, Fort Hood attack, SEAL team prosecution, dithering over Afghanistan troop increase,Gitmo detainees out of military tribunals and into NYC Courts, and now this!

From the WSJ Online – Prosecuting American ‘War Crimes’

The International Criminal Court claims jurisdiction over U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan.
By DANIEL SCHWAMMENTHAL

The Hague

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed “great regret” in August that the U.S. is not a signatory to the International Criminal Court (ICC). This has fueled speculation that the Obama administration may reverse another Bush policy and sign up for what could lead to the trial of Americans for war crimes in The Hague.

The ICC’s chief prosecutor, though, has no intention of waiting for Washington to submit to the court’s authority. Luis Moreno Ocampo says he already has jurisdiction—at least with respect to Afghanistan.

Uncle Jimbo at Blackfive has more to say – Accusations of abuse against our troops & the ICC

I have a bad feeling that we are going to be seeing a lot of folks claiming that our forces have roughed them up. First of all it is right in the al Qaeda training manual. They are told to start whining early and often that they were tortured or otherwise abused. We saw last week that the guys scarfed up by our SEALs complained about a fat lip. Did it happen? Did he do it to himself? We don’t know, but we know they are taught to make the claim. Today we read that two Afghans are claiming they were “tortured” in the Spec Ops holding facility at Bagram Air Base in AStan.

Wonder if this ICC prosecutor has bothered to check out Al-Queda’s very own torture manual?

Each drawing in the manual is more horrific than the last!

Success for Obama and Holder! (KSM to put America on trial)

Here’s what little girls have to look forward to in the United States.

It’s Barbie Burkha
No it’s not a joke.

But Obama’s continued promotion of Islam and support for the Jihadists of Islam will definitely help the caliphate grow to bring burkha’s to all women.

This was the plan all along, to have these 911 Islamic terrorists put the U.S. on trial, when Obama and Holder made the decision to bring the trials to NYC from Guantanamo Bay.

Michelle Malkin – Gitmo detainees will use trials as “platform” to bash America

One of the Gitmo defendants’ lawyers confirms the obvious: The civilian trials for 9/11-linked enemy combatants are nothing more than a grand excuse to use our legal system to bash America and spread the jihadi virus on the world stage.

It’s a shame when the current President and his administration believes that the United States is at fault for an attack on our soil by a bunch of neanderthal Islamic thugs.

Here’s the story about the Burkha Barbie

Hollywood Partnering with Islamists

Abu Dhabi is now funding Hollywood to make pro propaganda movies about Muslims. Another creep down the road of anti-Americanism by Hollywood apologists. Too bad these people are too self absorbed and clueless to realize these Islamists would ban most of their lifestyles.

Political Correctness, Ft. Hood, and Hollywood

Also unlike us, they have no problem asserting their values in the war’s crucial cultural front, either, a theater of operations where we are weakest. A burgeoning Arab film industry, for example, in partnership with Hollywood, is set to make unapologetic and positive cinematic portrayals of Islam as important an export as oil. Abu Dhabi is investing $1 billion in movie productions over the next few years. Crash and In the Valley of Elah screenwriter Paul Haggis recently taught a screenwriting master class in Dubai to fifty promising and “socially and politically astute” writers. A Qatari media company is pairing with Lord of the Rings producer Barrie Osborne on a $150 million biopic of the Muslim prophet Mohammed – “a profound genius,” says Osborne, ”who founded a religion whose name in Islam signifies peace and reconciliation. This is what our film will aspire to do.”

snip…The PC multiculturalist agenda, which Hollywood has often taken the lead in pushing, is a cancer that kills people and corrodes countries. It is the insidious source of all our misplaced “Why do they hate us?” agonizing. Not only is it undermining us in this clash of civilization versus barbarism, but it could prove to be the single most critical factor that will result in America’s defeat.

The people of the Left are so full of themselves they have no clue how this will affect them too.

Obama 2006 – “KSM Will Get Full Military Trial”

But now that Obama is Prez and has an opportunity to throw the US into chaos and give an animal like Khalid Sheik Mohammed a chance at a circus trial in US civilian courts just nevermind what he said in 2006.

A bill to authorize trial by military commission for violations of the law of war, and for other purposes.

Why on earth would Muslim leaders stand with the Victims at Ft Hood?

Why, because to them, the real victim of this massacre is the Muslim Shooter Nidal Malik Hasan. Instead of acknowledging there is a problem within their religion, Muslims always blame someone else. It’s all about them, how there’s a backlash against the Muslim community. How Muslims are the victims here, not those sad families who have just lost their loved one by this Islamic extremist. No sympathy from the Muslim community for all those families who have wounded family members, nope, it’s all about Muslims being the victims.

From Waco Trib (link via Gateway Pundit):

From Al Siddiq, president of the Islamic Center of Waco

Siddiq said what he has heard is that the Fort Hood shooter may be a convert to Islam. He said he thinks the problem some converts have is not based on the Islam religion, but on the resentment toward the U.S. government that they bring to their faith.

But then when you have a Commander in Chief who gives a news conference to address the massacre at Fort Hood and he talks for the first couple of minutes about the Tribal Nations Conference where he commends an attendee at the conference. Then once Obama finally starts to address the massacre what does Obama do? Well of course, Obama talks about himself:

“I want all of you to know that as Commander in Chief, that there’s no greater honor, but no greater responsibility for me (emphasis his) than to make sure that the extraordinary men and women in uniform are properly cared for…”

There seems to be a connection between the narcissism of Obama and the continual victimhood of Muslim murderers.

At this time there are 13 deaths and 30 injured at Fort Hood. Keep these families in your prayers.

Iraqi Perspective on Arab States

This editorial almost makes one believe there is a bit of sanity amidst the Iraqi people. Unfortunately this is but one lone voice in the wilderness.

Iraqi Columnist: Thank You, America

Thank You America – And Damn You, You Bastards
By Jabr Al Jabouri
Al-Bayyna Al-Jadida [Baghdad]
July 1, 2009

America chose to save us from the most evil party, and the most despicable President in the universe [Saddam]. Meanwhile, the Arab powers stood firmly against the American project. They used all means to thwart them, but Allah’s will had another say in this matter. America turned the Ba’athists into the world’s laughing stock by showing them fleeing in their underwear on live television. Meanwhile, the Arab powers turned those cowards into national heroes on their satellite channels.

Read the rest of the editorial, it’s an interesting take you won’t read elsewhere.

US Now Mirandizing Detainees in Afghanistan

How crazy is this? I heard this twice yesterday on radio news and thought, Obama and his minions can’t be this nuts! Aw, how wrong can a person be. I even messaged with a friend who is Special Ops in Afghanistan to ask about it and he had heard nothing. Now I know why.

U.S. Lawmaker Says Obama Administration Ordered FBI to Read Rights to Detainees
The move is reportedly creating chaos in the field among the CIA, FBI and military personnel, according to Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich.

A senior Republican on the House Intelligence Committee is accusing the Obama administration of quietly ordering the FBI to start reading Miranda rights to suspected terrorists at U.S. military detention facilities in Afghanistan.

The move is reportedly creating chaos in the field among the CIA, FBI and military personnel, according to Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich. The soldiers, especially, he says, are frustrated that giving high value detainees Miranda rights — the right to remain silent, the right to an attorney — is impeding their ability to pursue intelligence on the battlefield, according to a story first reported by the Weekly Standard.

“What I found was lots of confusion and very frustrated people on the front lines who are trying to, well, make Afghanistan successful for the United States and its allies,” said Rogers, who serves on the House Intelligence Committee.

It’s becoming more and more obvious to me that Obama and crew care more for Islamic jihadists than American Soldiers. That was supremely evident with the shooting of Pvt William Long at the Little Rock,Ar. recruiting office by Carl Beldsoe/Abdul Hakim Muhammad. To Obama, this was nothing more than a “senseless act”.

When Robert Gibbs was questioned about this today:

Asked if the Obama administration had ordered that Miranda rights be read to certain detainees, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said, “I have no reason to disbelieve a member of Congress. But I don’t know any of the circumstances that are involved around it.”

But Gibbs acknowledged that it wouldn’t be a surprise to find out that it was happening.

Yet Obama in his March 60 Minutes interview said that detainees didn’t deserve Miranda Rights. Another situation with Obama where it isn’t what he says, it’s what he does. He’s like the magician, diverting your view to the other shiny object so you miss the illusion of the trick.

In Rememberance to D-Day, Some History on Maisy Battery

Back in 2006 an amateur historian old maps at a fair and these maps uncovered German bunkers used by the Nazi’s which caused horrific losses to Allies on D-Day.

German Bunker Discovered Overlooking Normandy Beach

Over 60 years later – D-Day Maisy Battery found

The German bunker was discovered in Grandcamp-Maisy, western France

However, over the years it was lost as nature took hold, and it remained buried in French soil for more than 60 years. Experts were divided about the battery’s location until Mr Sterne’s find.

The Germans had built a decoy gun emplacement overlooking the area and the location of the real guns which blasted the beach remained unclear.

The 43-year-old father of two from Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, has bought a house close to the battery and subsequently spent thousands buying 40 acres covering the site from 32 different landowners.

He then took two years excavating the site. He said he received no animosity from the French towards his plan.

Mr Sterne has also contacted veterans of the US 5th Ranger Battalion, who confirmed taking Maisy Battery from the Germans.

They also revealed that they found $4.2million worth of French francs, which was shared among the men.

Now Mr Sterne plans to open a museum on the site.

You want to talk torture? Read “Tears in the Darkness” The Story of the Bataan Death March

Torture in today’s mind thought has evolved into “if a prisoner experiences discomfort” is torture. More people need to read their history. A new book “Tears in the Darkness – The Story of the Bataan Death March and Its Aftermath” tells the story of the cruel and heinous torture committed by the Japanese in WWII through the eyes of one of the survivors of the Bataan Death March.

For the first four months of 1942, U.S., Filipino, and Japanese soldiers fought what was America’s first major land battle of World War II, the battle for the tiny Philippine peninsula of Bataan. It ended with the surrender of 76,000 Filipinos and Americans, the single largest defeat in American military history.

The defeat, though, was only the beginning, as Michael and Elizabeth M. Norman make dramatically clear in this powerfully original book. From then until the Japanese surrendered in August 1945, the prisoners of war suffered an ordeal of unparalleled cruelty and savagery: forty-one months of captivity, starvation rations, dehydration, hard labor, deadly disease, and torture—far from the machinations of General Douglas MacArthur.
