Barret Report: 100 Redacted Pages Need To Be Released To Public
With 100 pages of the Barret blacked out, it looks like the teeth of the report got pulled. The Senate needs to reverse the bill to black out those 100 pages. If nothing else will convince the Republican Senators then the politics the Democrats are throwing around should have done the trick.
This month a report completed in 2004 by independent counsel David Barrett was made public. It documented the obstruction and impediment of justice that gave the former secretary of Housing and Urban Development a license to lie and cheat.
The term “made public” is a misnomer; 100-plus pages of the original 400-page report were “redacted” by court order.
snip…..Cisneros was able to parley 18 felony counts into a single “guilty” plea to a misdemeanor on a charge of lying to the FBI. For this, he was convicted and paid a $10,000 fine. The lies were about his income, his IRS tax filings and his adulterous relationship over a number of years with Linda Miller, who received huge and regular payments from him. On Bill Clinton’s last day in office, Cisneros received a presidential pardon.

A Culture of Corruption
I think conservative bloggers should start to use this phrase soon and often when posting about the Democrat Party or “The Clintons”.
What exactly does Senator Bryon Dorgan have to hide? Looks like he has been one of the driving forces behind suppressing the disclosure of “The Barrett Report”. Apparently the report documents an abuse of power by the previous administration with regard to IRS intrusion.
From TBND:
Senator Dorgan is currently leading the Democratic effort to stop the public from seeing almost one third of the report, written by independent counsel David Barrett that presents the results of an investigation into the Clinton administration?s suspected misuse of the Internal Revenue Service and the Justice Department.

Why Hasn’t The Barrett Report Been Released?
I’ve been hearing snippets about this report now for at least a month. Considering that independent counsel David Barrett has been investigating this tax fraud coverup since 1995, as an American Citizen I think it should be made available to be read.
Here’s why Democrat leadership has been trying so hard to prevent the release of this report:
It is a 400-page report by independent counsel David Barrett, who started out in 1995 looking into whether or not former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros committed tax fraud when trying to cover up payments to his mistress. The investigation evolved into something quite extraordinary. And it has been virtually ignored by the mainstream media, leaving the reporting mainly to conservatives Byron York of National Review and columnist Tony Snow.
It has turned into potentially a huge scandal. In a recent column by Tony Snow, he writes that the 400-page report “is a bombshell, capable possibly of wiping out Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential prospects.” He says Barrett “found unsettling evidence that Justice Department officials were actively interfering with the probe and even conducting surveillance of Barrett and his office.”
