Fox Tv Show “Bones” must be having a tough time with ratings

Filed under: Culture, The Underbelly — Toni @ 4:47 pm

Why do you think I say that? Because they’ve now delved into the 2 women kissing on the show. I like watching Bones but last night was one of those ‘ewwwww’ moments. During the episode there was an allusion to a previous lesbian relationship between Angela and a female suspect. I’m okay with the allusion but once this moves to full on passionate kissing between two females, I go ewwwwww. This program is on at 7pm CST so it’s prime time TV. This display was not needed for the development of the character, it was pure schtick all the way with the intention to promote a buzz. What it promoted within me was, I won’t be watching this show anymore.

Bones: Stars Talk Babies, Brothers and Breakups

The same thing happened when I found that the star of “The Unit” Dennis Haysbert was a total moonbat anti-military nutjob. I use to wait for “The Unit” new season to start, that ended last November when I heard this story.

I didn’t send an email to the show much less try to find a contact email for the show, I just posted about it on this blog. However, with Bones I did try to find an email contact to write to the show and lo and behold? There is none. They only give an address. When you drill down to a feed back page all they show for Fox Network Show is a mailing address (unlike all the other divisions of Fox).

FOX NETWORK SHOW MAILING ADDRESSES:

The address for requests of autographs, correspondence and other questions to the stars and producers of the FOX Show you asked about:

Paper Mail address only:

Way to avoid any feedback right! So smart or maybe that’s just Hollyweird’s version of how to avoid any feedback from flyover country.

  1. That’s exactly how I feel! I said it was disgusting and told my husband that’s the last time I will watch that show. Especially disturbing that it’s on in prime time!

  2. yes the episode was over the top but in reality there are lesbiens and gay people in this world and pretending it dosn’t exist is just a farce. i am not gay but i will not condem a show for showing a reality in this world. Bones is a very well thought out drama that deals with real life and the problems in this world today. I commend the show for dealing with real relationships not only man and women but women and women or man and man.

  3. Just dropping in to let you know that Bones is actually doing quite well in its ratings, thanks, and is one of FOX’s more popular shows (which isn’t hard, I’ll grant you, because FOX has got a lot of crap on it lately).

I find it hilarious that prime time TV shows such as The Unit and Bones and…well, just about everything else has HUGE makeout scenes between the straight couples — we’re talking full on tongue action — and then move on to sex scenes constantly, huge romantic storylines…and one — count it — ONE — TWO SECOND kiss interlude is enough to turn you off one of the few shows on television today that has quality writing, character development and great acting?

    You make me sad.

(Oh, and by the way, if you’re such a homophobe, you should never have started watching Bones seeing as how the actor who plays/played Zach in the first three seasons and guests on the fourth season is a very out-of-the-closet gay man!)

  4. My wife and I have been watching Bones for a couple of years now, and always enjoyed it until recently. When they started out they solved the crimes only, now they are interjecting not only sex, but the characters affairs, in which we have no interest at all. There have also been comments made about religion and the Bible, which are quite offensive and out of place. We strongly recommend that the writers be fired, and a whole new crew be brought in who will concentrate on the subject of the show.

We will continue to watch the show for now, and if the contents do not change, we will write the sponsors and boycott their products.

  5. I wonder what genius at Fox (oxymoron?) scheduled “Bones” at 8 pm on Thursday, right opposite the very successful “Smallville”, now in its eighth (is it?) season. Way to go. Many intelligent people - and fans, no distinction meant here - like those two shows, which means now I have to tape one of them, and I HATE taping. Bravo. As usual, idiots rule the network scheduling. They just couldn’t have found a more propitious (look it up, Fox people) time for that very popular show (disclaimers above notwithstanding).

  6. Bones

You can’t blame Fox for all the ills offered on TV. After all, Fox, conservative though they are politically, Fox realizes that sex sells and drama doesn’t have to be intelligently presented. The NCIS and CSI series have repeatedly explored the idea of heroes being captured, mistreated and even threatened with death. But, Bones should get off this theme of easily taking captive one of the lead characters for the sake of drama. It backfires more often than it increases viewer ship. First you put the lead in a dire circumstance, than you put her partner in a dire circumstance. Wow, how realistic! I for one will stop viewing a program that does that to attract viewers or sponsors. Stick with solving crimes. Your cast of characters have enough qualms, psychological eccentricities and character flaws without putting their lives in danger. As an assumable they are terrific. Their intelligence attracts a steady audience and assuming Fox pays the writers and warns the directors and producers to stop reaching for even more drama, the show will continue to succeed and even grow more audience. We want to see our heroes capable and functioning, not wed to a bed of pain waiting to be rescued. Got it!. If not, search your psychs for some realism. If law operatives had to worry about being captured by the bad guys and crazies, crimes wouldn’t get solved. We want to see the crimes solves in an hour. That brings satisfaction, not angst.
