The Obama’s and their American Pride Dilemma
John Hawkins has an article addressing Barack and Michelle Obama’s problem with being proud to be Americans. He brings up the well known issues of Barack refusing to wear an American Flag Pin or refusing to put his hand over his heart while the National Anthem is played. The Obama’s have a reality problem which is a common trait among Socialists/Communists/Marxists. Let’s look at the Obama’s life. They are both Ivy League educated. Mrs. Obama is an executive for a health care organization making around $275,000 a year plus she’s on the board of another organization from which she is paid $100,000. Mr. Obama is a US Senator and previously an Illinois State Senator. Between the two of them they are pulling down at least half a million a year in salary, not counting perks. For that alone, these two should be forever grateful and PROUD to be Americans.
But as Socialists these two believe that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. They don’t deal in reality and with that putting the Obama’s into the White House is a dangerous proposition.
Explaining to the Obamas Why They Should Be Proud of Their Country
“For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country, because it feels like hope is making a comeback.” — Michelle ObamaIs that a surprising sentiment to hear from a woman who wants to be first lady? You might think so, until you realize that she is married to a man who doesn’t hold his hand over his heart for the Pledge of Allegiance and makes a big deal out of not wearing a flag pin. Those two would make a great first couple — of Cuba or maybe Venezuela. Granted they might be a little to the Left of the people in charge now, but if anybody needs empty feel-good speeches featuring lots of Sesame Street rhetoric about “change, “hope,” and “unity,” it’s the citizens of Cuba and Venezuela.
But, since the Obamas’ patriotism is as thin as Barack’s resume, maybe someone should take the time to explain to them why they should appreciate this country.
I go back to Shelby Steele’s interview with Peter Robinson which I think exposes much about Barack Obama.

First of all, Sen. Barack Obama doesnt “refuse” to put his hand over his heart during the pledge of allegiance, he chooses to occasionally not put his hand over his heart during the national anthem. There is a difference there. So many of you typical right wing nuts cant wait to bash liberals or independants that you only listen to and believe what you want. Open your minds! I’m the first to admit that pretty much anyone we get to choose from to vote in as our next president has flaws. Unfortunately, so many are blinded by what they think are important for the country (candidates religion, stance on abortion, gay marriage, putting hand over heart during national anthem) that they dont actually focus on what REALLY affects us all (healthcare, economy, national debt). I pray that people in the future become more interested in SEEKING out the facts about what they hear and read instead of making up their minds once they see something they agree with.
Above all, country. That is what my recruit division commander told our division at boot camp graduation 3 years ago. No American, in their right mind, should allow someone who does not have enough American pride to do something as simple as putting their hand over their heart. We as Americans are known for our pride in country. How can Barack Obama call himself American when he shows so little pride in what we are all about? We enjoy freedoms that others do not enjoy. It is a disgrace to my comrades in arms and I to watch someone even have the audacity to deliberately disrespect the very thing we fight for daily. This war is inevitable. Mr. Bush had every right to start this war and we have every right to finish it. We can not back down after a deliberate act of terrorism on our own land. It is disgraceful that anyone would even choose to do so. Before you tell us “right wing nuts” to open our minds, maybe you should talk to some of us soldiers who have seen our brothers and sisters killed, fighting for the very thing that Barack Obama will not even recognized. Maybe you should open your own mind and heart to the things that are very real in this country.
