Bush to secure Mexico’s Southern Border
Remember that honking omnibus bill signed without most legislators even knowing what was in the thousands of pages of funding? WELL, tucked into that funding is $1.4 BILLION to help Mexico secure their southern border. Yeah, you read that right, not the US southern border with Mexico but Mexico’s southern border. I was in a snit last year when I read about the proposed $550 MILLION aid to Mexico but that amount has now more than doubled.
From Michelle Malkin we learn about “The Merica Initiative”! This at a time when our Congress de-funded the fence they committed to building. So, now we’re funding Mexico instead of our own borders. This at a time when the Mexican military has been invading our country in the protection of drug cartels smuggling into the US we are going to fund military equipment to MEXICO!!!
The plan is called “The Merida Initiative. Seems that the White House has had this plan in the works for nearly a year with little congressional input on either side of the border. We can’t finish our own border fence, properly supply our immigration agents and border patrol with all the equipment and resources they need, or get our house in order. Yet, the Bush administration wants to fork over $1.4 billion to Mexico and Central America–with much of it going into the hands of corrupt law enforcement officials and government bureaucrats who have worked tirelessly to undermine our immigration laws. The funding is tucked into the 2008 supplemental budget.
Naturally, the State Department has taken a lead role. They’ve held meetings in secret and cut out members of Congress from discussion. You’ll love the explanation for the secrecy: Mexico is “sensitive, you see. Also, according to one expert, “Mexico is very protective of its sovereignty and very worried about any incursion of U.S. security forces or private contractors—like Blackwater—coming in to train Mexicans. Yeah, they’re worried about incursions and sovereignty.
Yeah, isn’t that just a kicker, Mexico is worried about their sovereignty. And of course, we couldn’t go without referencing that evil “Blackwater”. It wouldn’t surprise me if John McCain’s Hispanic Outreach Director, Juan Hernandez, didn’t help formulate this monstrosity.
There’s many more details at Michelle Malkin.

Heh … it’s part of the plan … as soon as Mexico finishes the fence, since most Mexicans live in the US, we will just announce that we are using the Eminent Domain (per Kelo) to seize Mexico as blighted/abandoned and VOLIA! We have a border fence.
GCISD Parents Say Students Forced To Learn Spanish
Yeah, I know it’s Valentines day and all….
So What?!
I THINK THIS IS JUST STUPID!!!
WHY SHOULD ANY AMERICAN CHILD HAVE TO LEARN SPANISH?
This is insane. Why are we helping the very government that encourages its own people to illegally enter the US, earn wages and send them back to Mexico? How stupid can our Congress get? Or is it stupidity? Who’s buying them off?
George Bush is continuing his efforts (by stealth) to implement a common security perimeter around North America. Once completed, the internal borders of the continent will eventually be opened to the “free flow” of people and commerce and the merger of an economic union of North America (all for the benefit of America’s transnational corporations (Wal-Mart). But legislation is required by Canada, Mexico and the United States in order to make it a reality.
The Merida Initiative, developed in secrecy and slipped into a supplemental bill, would work toward controlling Mexico’s border. The U.S. would contribute $1.4 billion “…to assist the Governments of Mexico and Central America in strengthening border, air, and maritime controls from the Southwest border of the United States to Panama.” (A controlled border around a nation constitutes a security perimeter.) DEA Chief of Intelligence, Anthony P. Placido, speaking to the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, Feb. 7, 2008.
Immigration (amnesty) bills over the past two years have included wording mandating a common security perimeter around North America. The last bill, H.R 1645, the Strive Act of 2007, is in committee and would order the Secretary of State to oversee the project for the U.S. and to aid Mexico in securing its southern border.
