McCain - “just calm down”
I think Senator McCain might do well to read Ace’s “Thoughts on McCain“.
I don’t believe all of McCain’s anti-conservative moves are on principle. I think many of them, and the conspicuous grandstanding that goes with them, are political calculations — much of the public doesn’t like conservatives, therefore picking a public fight with conservatives increases his standing with a good fraction of the public. As this tactic — a sort of triangulation, or triangulation of fire against conservatives — has been the key to John McCain’s success since 2000, I expect him to continue employing it.
Conservatives exist to him for two reasons — to pull the lever for him meekly and without any say in his decision making, and to beat up upon for the delight of his true constituency.
If the GOP pundits and supporters of McCain think telling those of us who are anti-McCain to cut out the whining and ratchet down the rhetoric is a winning response I’ve got news for them. Their rhetoric produces the opposite effect with me at least, I am just digging my heels in even further when I hear this kind of garbage.
How about McCain explaining what Juan Hernandez or Jerry Perenchio are doing on his campaign? How about McCain ratcheting down his anti-corporate rhetoric? How about McCain stop with the Global Warming express?

Hey Toni…I remember you having the McCain discussion with us at “Prickfest” last summer…and everything you said would happen did. McCain turned out to be our worst nightmare.
Now what? Are you going to stay home in November? Me? I’m thinking I’ll probably have to hold my nose and pull the lever for McCain because of his stance on Iraq…but I ain’t gonna like it.

I’m going to send a contribution to the Hildabeast. Better she screw up the country for four years then for McCain to do it. At the end of this the RINOs will be out and we can have someone like Thompson or Romney. No more RINOs. Never again.
