Traveling….AGAIN

This time I’m heading to MinneSOTA. My godson/nephew has his Eagle Scout ceremony on Sunday. I’m so darn proud of this kid. Days before his 10th Birthday he was in a 4 wheeler accident, he came out of it with assorted internal injuries plus a traumatic brain injury. The following 6 months were a struggle for him not to say for his parents. He eventually got back to his violin playing, learned to play the guitar & french horn, got into field and track, acting roles in the local community theater, worked diligently on his Eagle Scout badges and requirements, helped his Auntie (me) pack for a move to Tennessee and recently got his driver’s license. I usually don’t drive back home for Thanksgiving but for this, how could I miss this ceremony? Especially after I was able to arrange for Rep. John Kline (Retired USMC Colonel, Vietnam Veteran, Marine One pilot, carrier of the nuclear football in the Carter and Reagan administration) to officiate at the ceremony.

I’m just so proud of him…..

Good looking kid wouldn’t you say? Ha. I think he takes after his Auntie Toni……

Well, I’d better git packing.  It’s an early start to drive almost a 1,000 miles tomorrow.
