No News is Good News
Isn’t that just the truth. Lately the drive by media hasn’t had much to report from Iraq since things have significantly quieted down. There’s still the occasional attempt to report 20 headless bodies found or some such faux story fed to the drive by’s through insurrgent groups. To report that thousands of Baghdad Iraqi’s are moving back to their homes from Syria and places would be giving General Petraeus too much credit. Yesterday while sitting in the airport waiting for my flight I heard Blitzer on CNN talk to a reporter in Baghdad about the decline in deaths (both military and civilian). There was the obligatory yes the deaths are down BUT……. This continued on CNN with whoever was anchoring and whoever was the reporter in Iraq. There was always a but to emphasize Iraq is still a dangerous place. Yes, that’s true but then so is Philadelphia or Pittsburgh.

I am surprised the drive by’s have not picked up on Afghanistan. News out of Afghanistan is not good. Afghanistan has become the forgotten war. NATO has dropped the ball in Afghanistan and I’m sure the US is going to need to ramp up the numbers to prevent the Taliban and Al Queda from retaking areas of the country.
