Jim Cooper (D,TN) in questioning of Eric Prince (CEO Blackwater) today in House hearings showed himself to be ignorant of defense contractors.

Congressman Jim Cooper (D-Tenn.) is upset that Blackwater provides training to other countries, but is ignorant of the fact that the US government paid for that training.

Cooper (pictured) also showed in his questioning of Blackwater CEO Erik Prince that he knew nothing of the Defense Trade Controls Act, presuming that Blackwater somehow can provide services to any country it chooses. He dared Prince to adopt a policy that Blackwater would only serve the United States.

Prince responded that such a statement makes no sense, because he can do nothing abroad without explicit permission of the United States government. Cooper seemed skeptical. Prince patiently explained to him……….

Jim Cooper – what a maroon! Someone help him get educated or he should refrain from showing his stupidity. Does Jim Cooper (Democrat Representative from Tn District 5) realize there’s many more defense contractors than Blackwater. They’re working in all parts of the world training foreign troops. They are contracted through a number of departments of the government namely the State Department. My ex-bf worked as a weapons trainer in Africa training and transporting Rwandan troops to Darphur as a part of the African Union – the contract was through the State Department. He’s been all over the world training foreign troops but he didn’t work for Blackwater.
