Update on Haditha Marine Case

From the Democracy Project:

……according to the attorney for Captain Randy Stone, legal officer for the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, charged with failing to report or investigate the deaths at Haditha, the investigating officer, Major Thomas McCann, for the Article 32 hearings (military-type grand jury) is recommending to 1st Marine Division commander Lt. Gen. James Mattis that the charges be dismissed.

Unfortunately for these Marines even if they are fully exonerated their careers and reputations have been forever damaged. This has been a travesty of justice perpetuated by the media and Rep. John Murtha.

  1. So the Article 32 hearing officer is recommending that the charges against Capt. Randy Stone be dropped: Is he also going to recommend that the Marine Corps reimburse Capt. Stone’s legal expenses, incurred by Capt. Stone while defending against these trumped up charges (pushed by insurgents and Time Magazine reporters?)

  2. A travesty for both groups of Marines. And they aren’t the only ones. Just sacrificial lambs.

  3. Jack Murtha should be subpoenaed to testify under oath as to his Pentagon source of information he claimed as he condemned the Haditha Marines before a hearing had even taken place. If he did receive information, or opinions from a high ranking military officer, wouldn’t that be command influence ?
