Robert Stokely tells us about a Homeless Vet of Iraq
Thunder Run tells us about a wounded Iraqi Veteran who is homeless and is being helped by Robert Stokely. This story shames us all. There is no excuse and there is no bureaucratic SNAFU to justify this neglect.
I’m also going to post this story on the Patriot Guard Riders forum – Georgia on the chance some help could be forthcoming from a GA PGR member. There’s a HOTH (Help on the Homefront) section with each state.
Update April 15,2007:
From the GA PGR Forum….
The Newnan American Legion is taking care of this problem for the
soldier. We have plans under way to take care of his daily needs until
the paperwork mess gets fixed. We are also going to contact the State
Dept of Veterans Services to help him out (since I’m friends with the
Manager there.)Roy

Thanks!
thanks for posting this – Kevin is currently in safe location near my home and we are trying to arrange him the use of a rental house my friend owns – going to see about getting utilities turned on and needs all furnishings including a refrigerator. People are hearing about this and offering to help – he has not received any military pay since August 6, 2006, so he is broke, as you might imagine. He was my son’s friend, and member of his National Guard Cavalry Scout unit, and as long as he is near me I will see he does not go without.
thanks,
proud dad SGT Mike Stokely
