McCain trying to put the Genie back in the bottle
So now that John McCain’s numbers are sliding he’s trying to get his name off of Kennedy’s new bill of gimme’s to illegal aliens. Too bad John, we all know you’re willing to sell the American people down the Rio Grand for illegal aliens.
From Politico.com
McCain’s foes on the immigration issue contend that he is feeling heat from social conservatives amid sliding public opinion polls in the Republican presidential contest. They say he wants to find a way to object to the bill without being tagged a “flip-flopper” on immigration. Let Democrats carry a bill that would offer a citizenship process for most of the 12 million illegal immigrants now in the United States, immigration conservatives surmise.
The gist of it for McCain, he still wants amnesty for illegal aliens and he continues to ignore what the majority of Americans want. No amnesty, close the borders to illegals and stop the magnets that attract illegals. I personally would prefer the US go back to an immigration policy akin to the early 1900’s. Immigrants were initially sequestered at an Ellis Island type facility. Backgrounds were checked and medical tests were performed to verify no contagious diseases. Immigrants are granted green cards for needed skill sets and we eliminate chain migration. The legal ruling allowing anchor babies needs to be challenged and overturned. Only babies born to American citizens aurtomatically are American citizens. Limits need to be set by country so we don’t have the situation we have today where there’s a mass migration of Mexicans, Central Americas, or Asia.
Refugees need to be restricted also. We are not the welfare office for the world. If a church or non-profit group is going to sponsor refugees then that group is responsible financially. Not the American taxpayer. No welfare subsidies or medical care subsidies. Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare are only for American citizens. Eliminate dual citizenship. This will encourage immigrants to become American citizens.
If someone enters the country on an education Visa or work Visa that person still needs to go through the process. If there’s a marriage between an American citizen and visa holder I think the process needs to go to fast track for citizenship as long as the immigrant speaks passable English and demonstrates the ability to be financially independent. If there’s a divorce within 5 years of the marriage then the immigrant loses their citizenship and returns to their country of origin. I’m sure there’s some holes in this since I don’t know all the ins and outs with this situation.
Any felony convictions by an immigrant returns them immediately to their country of birth, never to be able to return.

Sen. McCain’s negatives far outweigh the positives his Vietnam service and POW status gave him. Thank you, Senator, for your military service, but I will never vote for you. No more RINO votes from me. Period!
