Government of the People – Or the Courts?

From Common Sense America:

Last Tuesday, the people of Arizona voted overwhelmingly in favor of tough measures against illegal aliens. But now, it doesn’t seem to matter what the majority of American citizens say at the voting booth because. . .
Activists and lawyers are pondering a legal challenge to Proposition 300, a measure approved last week by Arizona voters that makes undocumented immigrants pay out-of-state tuition at public universities and community colleges.
And even though it is the ‘will’ of the citizens of Arizona, and the Proposition was carefully produced to be sure it would not be susceptible to lawsuits on the basis of constitutionality, that isn’t stopping the pro-illegal alien activists.
If a tree falls in the woods, and nobody hears it, does it make a sound?
(Of course it does.)
If a law is passed in Washington, and becomes the law of the land, does it get enforced?WELL………Not Exactly…..
Check out these NEW [illegal] immigration stats for Georgia:

-Hall County’s population grew by more than 23,000 in the past five years,
with Hispanic [illegal] immigration accounting for much of that growth.

-Hispanics now make up 25.2 percent of Hall County’s population…

-Georgia’s population grew by more than 600,000 during the period, with
Hispanic [illegal]immigration…accounting for much of the statewide
growth.

-…the study, showing seven percent of the state’s population is
Hispanic, may underestimate the real number by half.

Demediacratic Nation tells us about……Elvira Arellano’s Kid Saul is in Mexico

The LA Times brings us up to speed on the Arellano :

“Seven-year-old Saul Arellano fidgeted with his lucha libre wrestling toys Tuesday as he walked through the halls of Mexico’s Congress. Alongside him was the small retinue of U.S. activists who have helped make him a cause celebre of the immigration debate on both sides of the border.”

“The shy but persuasive U.S.-born son of a Mexican immigrant told his story to legislators in spare, American-accented Spanish.”

Shy, but persuasive for no other reason than he is a cute kid and Mexican politicians need to keep their economic plan up and running via the border.

Via Siknstein…..Who Runs this country? ¿Quién funciona este país?

The elections are over and the President is laying down the law to the new Congress………
” with a resolution calling on the U.S. Congress to suspend the deportation of Elvira Arellano and any other illegal immigrant parents of U.S. citizens.
Acknowledging that Arellano broke U.S. law, he said,”We think there exist certain elements of a humanitarian nature that should be taken into account to avoid splitting up the family.”

President Bush has repeatedly………WAIT…….um ….SORRY…..wrong President.
I meant to say President Calderon of Mexico………….Golly, a totally different Nation……what a PUTZ I am…… Mexico passed a resolution instructing our government how to set up our immigration policy.
