President’s Press Conference
I just listened to President Bush’s press conference where he announced the resignation of Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. First, I like Donald Rumsfeld. I liked watching his press conferences with the media. I have been unhappy with how we have dealt with Al Sadr and his militias but I don’t know if that is Rumsfeld, Bush, the Iraqi’s or a combination of all.
But in listening to the press conference I think I just heard President Bush hand over the keys for the car to the Democrats. He talked about entitlements which to me means he’ll be willing to sign onto new entitlements along with the myriad of other left wing desires. Hell, maybe they’ll finally get their socialized medicine and price fixing for drugs. You can definitely look to cuts with the military. I don’t know this Robert Gates except what I read in Wikipedia and there was nothing there that impressed me terribly.
Looks like we’ll be having an open borders policy along with all those illegal aliens getting Social Security, tax breaks, amnesty and probably whatever little perks they want. Oh and that Super Highway? Yeah, look for that too. It was scheduled to start in 2007 so it’s right on target. We can kiss any border security goodbye.
I”m wondering right now who else President Bush will be willing to throw over the fence to appease the Democrats because there will be no end to the demands. One thing is for sure (as we’ve all known), President Bush is no President Reagan. He sure didn’t come out fighting, he came out whimpering. Good grief to reference “No Child Left Behind” as an example of his working with the Democrats? That’s exactly what angered most of us Conservatives right out of the gate with his presidency. That’s like a slap in the face to us.
This does not bode well for the next two years. This does not bode well for the security of our country with the terror threats we face from many factions. I’m still cringing and probably will continue to cringe for quite awhile.

A quick glance at Bush’s record as TX guv shows he was not really a “conservative.” A vote for him these past two presidential elections was, like most elections, for the “lesser of evils.” It’s no surprise that he will now “work cooperatively” with Pelosi and Reid. That’s been his fallback MO all along. It’s likely to lead to a Democrat president next election.
If I lived in a big city, I’d move to a rural area. We are in for more terrorist attacks on big cities.

Well, clearly a majority of the country (including Republicans) believe that a new direction is needed. As we can see absolute power corrupts. The people have spoken, and they have had it with the Bush administration. Today America spoke.
