Unexpected Photo Op from yesterday

With the Laura Bush visit yesterday in Franklin at the Factory I had no expectations that we would actually get close enough to get a picture much less an autograph. My friend and I stood on concrete (in heels mind you) from 11:30am until 3:00pm for the Laura Bush visit. We ended up right behind the barrior and were rewarded with a photo and autograph. As silly as this may sound, both of us were almost giddy afterwards. My friend and I had talked before hand if Mrs. Bush walked through to shake hands, if the opportunity arose we’d each take the other person’s picture. When I asked for a photo with the First Lady my friend was so surprised her camera wasn’t on. I wouldn’t have asked if the lady after me hadn’t requested a photo. Duh, I figured I’d better ask too. Mrs. Bush’s assistant then took the picture. I was also surprised by how much time Mrs. Bush took as she worked her way down the line.
Here’s my memorable photo with Laura Bush:

Update Nov. 2: Wow, am I naive! I didn’t expect BDS (for those uniformed few…..BDS=Bush Derangement Syndrome) to extend to First Lady Laura Bush. But I guess it does. . Be sure to read the comments, that’s where you see the manifestations of the disease.

  2. I understand the giddy feeling. I met Mrs. Bush Sr. once, very briefly. She was as gracious as you’d expect.
