Tn Senate Debate between Corker & Ford
Harold off the bat comes out and says he was disturbed by the smut and slime on prime time tv? First of all, I think Harold Ford Jr. has a disconnect here. What I hear him saying is that he thinks anyone imitating a Playboy bunny is smutty and slimey but yet there’s nothing wrong with him attending a Playboy Party? Ummm, Harold? If you attend a Playboy Party there are Playboy bunnies at the party. That means that you like smut and slime according to your own words.
Do I give a care if Harold Ford Jr attends a Playboy party? Nope. Do I think an actor pretending to be a Playboy bunnie in a political ad (while fully dressed) is smut and slime? Nope? But Harold Ford Jr. you can’t have it both ways you hypocritical nitwit.
I hadn’t intended to focus so much on this point when I was starting out to write about the debate. But the more I thought about this the more it irritated me. I also got “God” weary from Harold. I don’t know if he could have injected his “faith” or belief in God too many more times in his responses.
I remember from the primary race when Bob Corker was continually talking about how Conservative he was and thought that was a loser statement to make. But Bob didn’t win the primary because of his supposed “conservative” principles, he won because of a 3-way race.
I think Harold has overplayed his card on trying to convince the religious right of his religiosity. People can tell when someone is playing them. And Harold is playing them bigtime. He loses points in the debate on this.
I also learned Harold Ford Jr. is for price controls on drug companies. His euphamistic answer regarding health care was to have Medicare negociate with the drug companies, this is code for government price controls on drugs.
What would this mean? Just like with the flu shot - drug companies will drop this product like a lead balloon. Once you take the competitive market out of a drug for pharmaceutical companies they will no longer do R&D, no longer produce this drug since it’s a loser. Why should they. The US will become like Europe with the disappearance of drug R&D and production.
Harold’s plan for drug companies is disturbing and his socialist tendencies distinctly show through here.
Also, Harold has a dim memory when it comes to his voting record on medical tort reform. His voting record by the NAM (National Association of Manufacturers) is less than stellar for the 109th Congress. Out of 100, Harold rated 43!
Here’s one example from NAM:
12 109-1 449: H.R.5, On Passage Medical Liability Reform (H.R. 5) Vote on H.R. 5, legislation to help make health coverage more affordable for millions of Americans by reducing the additional cost that all forms of medical liability litigation adds to health coverage costs. Approved 230-194 on July 28, 2005 (Roll No. 449). The NAM has long championed medical liability reform because of the downstream consequences for higher health care costs from unlimited damage awards, liability insurance, and defensive medicine. NAM POSITION: Yes.
Harold Ford Jr. voted NO on this medical tort reform bill.
Harold is talking through his butt regarding his stance on illegal aliens. His voting record on immigration as graded by Americans for Better Immigration which looks at his voting record on immigration bills in the House of Representatives.
He received an overall grade of C since 1998.
His grade for amnesties is much lower though. He got an F for his career voting record and an F- for his recent voting record. That tells me that Harold Ford Jr. is pro-amnesty for illegal aliens.
I don’t know exactly how Harold thinks the US will become energy independent when he votes against energy exploration in ANWAR or when he votes against any expansion of refinery capacity.
Too bad Harold Ford Jr. has to lie about his voting record, I wonder what his “God” thinks about that? Is that the values his God-fearing parents taught him? Yup, probably is their values when you consider past and current activities of the Ford Family Machine.
I know I have focused totally on Ford here, but I figure the local media will fawn over Harold’s performance so I wanted to counter balance their stance with a few facts which the local media can’t quite seem to investigate.
Harold Ford Jr is an empty suit who has accomplished nothing in his life except for inheriting a political House seat in a district that traditionally has voted on name recognition. His performance in the House of Representatives in 10 years is stunningly unremarkable.
On the debate itself, I’d say it was either a draw or slightly leaning to Corker for a win. I also believe that Bob Corker will win this Senate seat. Ford lost the race starting with the Memphis meltdown and by over reacting to the Corker ad by the RNC. Personally, I thought the “Bimbo” ad was humorous and on target. It was a truthful ad, I don’t look on it as being a negative ad. For the Ford people to charge racism was a political mistake and hurt Ford in his campaign. His speech regarding Australia as a nuclear threat should have been headline news if the local media weren’t so biased for a Ford win. I’m sure if Corker had made such asinine statements this would probably be the case.

[…] When asked about the negative TV ads, I thought Ford’s response was interesting. He described the controversial RNC IE parody ad — in which a “blonde bimbo” (as she’s been described by the MSM) says she “met Harold at the Playboy party” — as “smut and slime that shouldn’t be on the air during family time.” To quote Toni at the Bear Creek Ledger: “Ummm, Harold? If you attend a Playboy Party there are Playboy bunnies at the party. That means that you like smut and slime according to your own words.” […]
