American Energy Independence Plan
David Neeleman, CEO JetBlue, has developed a plan for US energy independence within 10 years for the US. Glenn Beck had Neeleman on both his tv and radio programs to talk about this plan. Even though there’s government funds used for the capital outlay I have to say there’s a lot of sense with his plan. It would be worth the tax outlay to be independent from all foreign oil imports and ultimately will save tax dollars in bribery aid dollars given to foreign governments for oil. The security issue alone makes this bill worthy of a look.
From David Neeleman’s Coal to Liquid Presentation:
Gasification & Fischer Tropsch (FT)
• Fischer Tropsch process invented by German researchers in the 1920’s to produce liquid fuels and was used by Germany during WWII
• Process was used in the 1950’s in South Africa to meet it’s energy needs during it’s isolation under Apartheid
• Today South African Coal Oil and Gas Corp. (Sasol) uses FT to produce 150,000 barrels/day of synthetic fuels
Neeleman has taken into consideration incentives for oil companies to take on this effort while looking at the benefits for American taxpayers and supply for our military. Ethanol will never be the answer for energy independence. For one thing, ethanol cannot be used for aircraft fuel.
David Neeleman spent time last week trying to bend the ear of Legislators and the Dept. of Energy. One Representative told Neeleman that he could “never” present this plan to his district. The Dept. of Energy wouldn’t consider the plan because this wasn’t “new” technology. Huh? Neeleman has written a draft for the bill along with presentations which can be used for explaining the proposal. This is something we can do now! We don’t have to wait. There could be a plant built by 2007 if started today. He’s proposing 10 to 70 coal to liquid plants across the 38 states which have the large coal reserves.

Check out this information and if you find this could be a solution, then pass it on to your legislators with the question of why aren’t we looking at this as a viable energy plan?

If this plan ever gets done, it won’t be till after elections, because both sides want to use the oil situation to bash the other, while claiming “they” have the answers, but are thwarted by the opposition. Sick, but that’s American politicians. It’s long past time for term limits.

I listened to this as I was driving back fom Detroit, The plan makes perfect sense. I think the plan should go before congress now. We need to act on this ASAP. One postive thing would be the drop in oil prices once this is out in the open and we start construction of the plants, they will know they will be losing customers that will pay with hard $$$’s. Let them sell to the countries that have no stable currency like the USA’s. Let them drown in thier oil!
