Lebanese Government Knew of Planned Kidnapping
Looks like Lebanon isn’t really looking to rid itself of Hezbollah!
The indispensable MEMRI TV has footage of hateful Shia terror kingpin Hassan Nasrallah talking to Jihad News Network, claiming that Lebanon’s Saniora government knew in advance that his thugs were planning to attack Israel and abduct IDF soldiers.
So, why exactly is the US offering Lebanon aid? It looks like it will go to Hezbollah anyway!
Clarity & Resolve: Nasrallah: Lebanese Government Knew of Planned Kidnapping
For commenters if you’re truly interested in this and not just an anti-Israel spewing zealot (and if you are of this variety then there’s nothing I can say to change your mind, and to be honest I have better things to do than beat my head against a brick wall for a brain) then Ed Morrissey at Captains Quarters has further thoughts and details on this information.

Read further in the transcript:
“It is true that I did not inform the Lebanese government, but I did not inform my closest allies either. Syria and Iran did not know. No Syrian or Iranian knew. They did not know, and I did not consult any of them.”
By political leaders, he might have been talking about the Hezbollah members in the Lebanese parliments. However, I think the most interesting part was this:
“They [unnamed political leaders] asked: ‘If this happens, will the issue of the prisoners be over and done with?’ I said that it was logical that it would. And I’m telling you, our estimation was not mistaken. I’m not exaggerating. Anywhere in the world - show me a country, show me an army, show me a war, in which two soldiers, or even civilian hostages, were abducted, and a war was waged against a country - and all for two soldiers. This has never happened throughout history, and even Israel has never done such a thing.”
It seems that Hezbollah got in over their heads, they thought this would be the same as previous prisoner exchanges…they were wrong.

So, we only believe what the Hezbollah terrorists say when it fits our rationalizations in favor of innocent Lebanese civilians being bombed to death? Truth is not the exclusive domain of either Israel or Hezbollah. It lies somewhere in between, as do the real casualties of this war, whom conservatives view with either apathy or contempt.
