Kofi’s Delusions of Grandeur with the UN
The German online magazine Spiegel (as most German publications this is of the delusionary extreme left, anti-American spewing variety) has an interview with Kofi (delusion of grandeur) Anan.
First there’s all sorts of blather about the World Cup (yawn!). Then:
SPIEGEL: What is the greatest threat?
Annan: Depending on where you live, your threat is much different from the other person. If you ask a New Yorker today, because of the way the press plays it, he will say terrorism is his biggest fear. But for somebody living on a small island state, then it is climate change, the rise of the sea level, for his whole island may be washed away. If I go to southern Africa, snip……
See New Yorkers, terrorism isn’t really a threat cause HIV/Aids in the world of moral equivalence is equally a threat. With those of Kofi’s ilk all evils are equal. Kofi can’t even come up with a definition of terrorism. In Kofi’s eyes HIV/Aids is a more of a security threat than Hezbollah or Al Queda or Hamas(et al).
Then Kofi speaks about the main mission of the UN. What a hoot…..the UN main mission is peace and security? This is an organization whose “security forces” have food for sex scandals and the UN ignores the rape of the settlement camp victims they are supposed to be protecting. But, then will vigorously protest the holding of terrorist combatants of war at Guantanamo. What a hypocrite! Course the German reporter would never question anything the divine Kofi says because Kofi is the divine one to the senseless and useless German media.
Kofi the appeaser who can’t ever enforce any of his own UN resolutions or stand behind them or even remember the resolutions against Hezbollah or Iran. Thus today Kofi comes out and conveniently forgets about the resolutions against Hezbollah but condemns Israel’s defending themselves from attacks from Hezbollah and Hamas. Admit it Kofi, you’re an anti-semite and hate America. You just want to take anything Americans have and get it for yourself and all the other totalitarian regimes out there. You love dictators and tyrannies more than freedom.Â
He thinks Iranian Ahmadinejad will accept and abide by an agreement from the UN. Got news for you Kofi, ain’t never gonna happen! They’ll lie just like they always lie, just like Kofi lies and agree to the resolutions and then happily go on their way to ignore them.
Of course the interview gets better. We haven’t beat up sufficiently on the US yet.
SPIEGEL: The biggest team, the United States, likes to play by its own rules.
Annan: There is a certain tendency on the part of some Americans to treat the UN as a multilateralism à ¬a carte where you pick and choose where it suits you and when it doesn’t suit you, you pull back.snip….
Reeeaaallly. Maybe it’s because the UN has no track record in following it’s own dictates. The UN has a track record of appeasement and failure with all areas it touches. I include humanitarian relief in that since we have finally started to see the light of day to the level of corruption running rampant in the UN bowels of bureaucracy. But of course, playing the American Cowboy is much more aggregious than embezzlement and stealing of funds. It’s all about that “moral equivalence” issue.
Here’s the best though:
SPIEGEL: It seems that every US generation in recent history has had to go through the experience of losing a war.
Annan: Yes, and it is a bit sad to put it that way. One has to learn from history. Quite frankly, it is almost impossible to have a sense of vision without a sense of history. If history is learned, then it doesn’t have to repeat itself over generations.
As has been so excellently pointed out by Davis Medienkritik:
Hmmm. OK, now let’s see. Which generations have had to experience losing a war. The baby-boomers had to experience Vietnam. (Scratching head) OK. Now what other “US generation” had to experience losing a war? Did the US lose any other wars…? Are the reporters confusing the US with Germany? This is all so confusing. snip…..
Indeed. One does have to learn from history. Lesson One for Retarded Intellectually-Challenged German Journalists: Recent US Military History.
I was especially taken by a commenter at Medienkritik regarding lessons that should have been learned by the US:
I’ll concede we could have done a better job of learning the lesson of the League of Nations.
It’s not too late to get the hell out of the UN. The US just needs the resolve from members of Congress. Oh yeah, what was I thinking? There are so few in Congress who have any spines left, most of them just flop around when sitting in a chair.
