Beth at Blue Star Chronicles had a telephone conversation with a Soldier and this Soldier thinks the American people don’t care about them. Political correctness is tearing them down. Thanks to the dominent media convicting Troops of wrong doing (before an indictment even), thank you John Murtha and many others. Abu Ghraib has driven the Military to a point of stupidity in regards to believing anyone (terrorist or NYT’s) before believing the Boots on the ground.

“Everybody’s afraid to pull the trigger. If you don’t pull the trigger, you might be killed, if you pull the trigger you could be ending your career.” He added, “They’d really rather us be killed than get any bad press. So we aren’t supposed to pull the trigger.”

Why won’t America do that? Why does America tie the hands of our troops? Why don’t we kick the press out of the platoons and let them do what they need to do? Why would we RATHER OUR SOLDIER’s be killed than get bad press?

There’s more sobering revelations from this Soldier that should be shoved into the faces of Centcom. They need to get off this PC crap.
