Remember how blogger used to eat postings?  Well, Word Press does it too.  Just happened again for me.  Otay.  

When I was driving this morning I heard a radio ad from Harold Ford Jr. about his strong stance against illegal aliens.  My first thought?  Is Harold telling me the truth?  And of course, he isn’t.  It’s all about the 2006 election which to be honest isn’t a surprise.

Did you know there’s a Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus?  Those members of the caucus are serious about going after the illegal alien problem and closing down the US borders from illegals.    Harold Ford Jr.’s name isn’t on the list while there is another TN Democrat whose name is on the list - Lincoln Davis.  Harold must have been too busy with all of his out of state Senatorial fund raisers.

I did have this in a more detailed format but since I lost that posting, I’m just going to tell you his overall grade on the subject of immigration reform from the nonprofit group Americans for Better Immigration.  Harold received a Grade of C for his voting record since 1998.  The link will take you to the details of what comprised this average.

A grade of C doesn’t tell me that Harold is terribly serious about taking a tough stance on illegal aliens or border control.  In fact his grade regarding amensties was F for his overall career and F- for his recent votes.  If you view all actions this will show all the votes taken into consideration for this grade.

Something tells me that Harold recently got ‘religion’ in regards to the illegal alien issue.  That couldn’t be because he’s running for the Senate in a Red State, could it?
