Support the Camp Pendleton Eight

Author: I just completed Ilario Pantano’s book “Warlord“. What was clear from Ilario’s trial was that NCIS did a hack job of investigating the charge against Ilario. They based the whole charge on the voice of one witness – Sgt. Coburn, a lying, cowardly Marine who was incompetent and jealous of Pantano. I was astounded by the tunnel vision of NCIS, their lack of interest in verifying or validating the word of one Marine who didn’t have the courage to report the charges. The charges were brought forth by a 3rd party who heard about it via telephone from Coburn. If Ilario Pantano had not been able to raise funds he wouldn’t have received the best defense available to prove his innocence. The organization started by his Mother (Defend the Defenders) raised much of the needed funds. And the Marine Corps drove out of the Corps a stellar officer. I’m not saying not to investigate charges but how about a competent investigation by NCIS where they have no preconceived conclusions. Shame on the higher ups in the Marine Corps.Â
I hope the same treatment does not happen with the Marines held for the Haditha investigation or the Marines charged for the Hamdania investigation (Camp Pendleton Eight).Â
I just heard Carl Levin(D,MI) on Fox News Sunday say there was “overwhelming” evidence that the Marines committed this atrocity in Haditha. Guess he hasn’t been reading Sweetness & Light, Michelle Malkin, Chickenhawk, Blue Star Chronicles and many other blogs who are doing the work the dominent media should be doing. But then, that would be wrong since it would appear they are pro-military and they just couldn’t do that. Afterall, the NYT’s and LAT’s ARE pro-Islamic Insurrgent Terrorists!

The Camp Pendleton Eight should be freed.Why are these men being made scapegoats? The Marine Corps has gone too far.
I know how NCIS works, they do shotty work and they dont care about truth, they seem to be trying to complete some kind of quota. THey are snakes, and one lady in particular at Camp Pendleton is Queen snake. I have seen the prosecution even shy away from NCIS, who was on their side, now that is bad.
Cell Mates
I have finally reached the straw that broke the camels back. To prosecute the eight Marines for murder or other conceived crimes goes beyond rational thinking. I am a former Marine who served our country in Vietnam (1968 and 1969.) If these people are found guilty, I will also plead guilty and will either take their place in jail or be “cell mates” with them. I did, I witnessed and I live with it to this day, atrocities beyond their actions. Killing is not murder when your country, that you cherish, is on the line. With complete sincerity, Chris H. This is so shameful to persecute the men who have stood for us, and for their prosecutors for freedom. I can hardly think of a more unpatriotic effort to show that the US MIlitary, is losing the war from the inside out. Our soliders in Iraq and around the world are the best man, so much better than those who would turn on them for being SOLDIERS defending out country. It is unbelievable. It is totally criminal. It is gigantically shameful. This needs to be broadcast more. Many people don’t know anything about it. The only person I know who talks about it is Micheal Savage and Thomas More… WE NEED A MOVEMENT at the WHITEHOUSE steps.. for a full Pardon, an Apology by the top brass.

prosectuting these 8 marines for doing their duty to their country & their fellow marines is criminal. what action they took at the time was proper & necessary. american soldiers should not be expected to allow these barbarians to murder them at will & not defend themselves. anyone who disagrees with that should go to iraq & knock on any “innocent civilians” door, but do it without a marine to protect you.
I’m trying to figure out what exactly the people who posted comments 5 and 8 are talking about. President Bush and the majority of Republicans support our troups. The media and prosecutors mentioned in this case are indeed very politically motivated, but the Democrats are behind them and every other attack on our troops. Read any newspaper or turn on the news. Who is always attacking our troops and looking to condemn any chance they get- I’ll give you a clue, it’s not the Republicans. What would the Republicans possibly have to gain from attacking our troops? The worse the media and Democrats can make the war and our military in Iraq look, the better for them. They are running on an anti-war campaign.
Every war the US government ALWAYS has to make a “sacrifice” to the enemy and the bad-guy loving traitors who claim to be US citizens. In my time, it was Lt. Calley (during Vietnam) who did exactly what he was ordered to do, by-the-book, but was then left hanging by his coward superiors.
