Fun Photos for Friday

What a week it’s been!  I started a sports training boot camp last Monday.  I wasn’t sure I would make it through to today!  What you have to understand is the most I’ve ever done in terms of exercise was walking up until I moved to Tennessee.  I started resistance strength training and jogging a couple miles a day along with taking the Spreadsheet Expert for a mile walk.  I happen to have the only dog who hides when you ask “Want to go for a walk?”.

This boot camp is something else altogether.  Doesn’t sound bad when you hear – one hour a day, 5 days a week for 4 weeks!  Right?  OMG – I never knew I could sweat like I have the last week.  It’s like someone opened the sweat faucet on me.  Day one was endurance testing, day two arm & shoulder strengthening, day three – cardio (this almost did me in) with lots of sprints and squats and I can’t even remember all the reps, day four was abs & legs (after this she strongly advised another 15 to 20 minutes on the treadmill and to not stop walking for most of the day…..she said we’d really start to feel this day on Saturday.  I’m in big trouble.).  Today was back to cardio and dare I say not so bad.  I mean I’m still ambulatory.  Oh and we’re also writing down every piece of food going into our mouths and trying to up our protein intake.  That’s been difficult for me too.  I think I’m going to have to resort to those protein shakes.

There’s already a sign up sheet for the July Boot Camp.  Think I’ll wait a week or so before signing on the dotted line.  Hopefully I’ll still be able to walk.  I’ve been laying on the couch now for an hour so it’s time to get my butt up and go move around.  The SE needs a nice walk.

Last weekend the PGR (Patriot Guard Riders) of TN had a going away picnic for the Tuckasee Captain at Fort Campbell.  Lots of fun with a great group of people.  I took some photos of the little kids that I really enjoyed:
