A great story!
I remember reading his story and seeing blog-posted pix of him being evacuated after being wounded. Never saw the story in the MSM, though. (Well, that may be my own fault, ’cause I ignore the MSM as much as possible.)
I know this Marine personally and he is the greatest Marine I’ve ever had the pleasure of serving under. He has always put his Marine first and does whatever it takes to complete the mission. I could go on forever on how highly i think of this Marine but i will just say he is everything a Marine is suppose to be! Semper Fidelis
I had the privilege of being among the first to provide medical care for this Marine, shortly after he was wounded in Fallujah. He told me the story of his heroic actions that day. His only concern was for his men and how soon he could rejoin his unit. His courage touched me deeply and I wrote about him in my personal journal. His courage and sacrifice is in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps. In a time when the word hero gets overused, he is a true American hero.

I served with this Hero of Marines in 1/4 and even as a young Sergeant he was a Marine’s Marine. God has truly blessed America with the likes of SgtMaj Kasal.
Sargent Major,
You are the meaning of soldier. I have read your story and am duly impressed. I hope this message reaches you because I have no other method. Hero is an empty term. Brother, Man and Soldier are the words that hit me. I read your story in the Veterans News distributed to the Chapter of the American Legion. I can only say “Thankyou for your service.” My thougt is to express my views but when confronted with a man whose has put his life on the line… Again, Thankyou!
