Hanoi Hilton Responds to Your Questions About Fran O’Briens

Filed under: Military, Honoring Our Military — Toni @ 6:42 am

Andi has posted the response to the many questions on the non-lease renewal for Fran O’Briens restaurant.

For one thing there appears to be some disseminating or word play going on regarding the number of weeks or days given for notice of non-renewal. Hanoi Hilton did state their SOP for notification of non-renewal of a lease is greater than 3 weeks. This however does not jive with their actions with Fran O’Briens.

The next point was on ADA compliance issues at Hanoi Hilton, this question was not answered and ignored.

Considering this was a local decision vs a corporate decision could there still be a remote possibility to change the Hanoi Hilton actions? I’d say only if Hanoi Hilton cares about it’s long standing reputation with the Military community.

This doesn’t seem to be a likely conclusion and as Andi says “Let’s throw our energy into supporting Marty and Hal, and by extension, our wounded heroes.” I think the monicker Hanoi Hilton has been earned and will and should join the ranks of Hanoi Jane.

  1. This will definitely trigger a business backlash for the entire Hilton hotel chain. I hope they’re ready.

  2. Hi Toni! Don’t know if you saw the post but the Fri night get together in DC has been moved to Fran O’Brien’s. I’m planning to go to the WR support gathering with others and maybe F.O. later. I’m betting it’ll be packed after all the publicity this week! Looking forward to meeting you!
