Nashville Immigration CandleLight Vigil
Here’s a few pictures from the vigil on Friday night, January 27th to show support for the bill the House of Representatives passed on Immigration Reform. The vigil was in the parking lot of Senator Bill Frist’s Office. I suppose there were maybe 300 people there, I’m guessing but Phil Valentine did try to get people to sign a list to get a headcount.

Chris Simcox from The Minutemen Project was a speaker.

Phil Valentine before the speeches started:

Carl Whitaker who is the founder of the Tennessee Minutemen Chapter and is also running for Governor in the 2006 race. When I asked Whitaker what kind of Republican he was, his response was a “Conservative” Republican.

Here’s a few other photo’s:

These vigils are needed because of these stories which seem to be unending in quantity:

Mexico suggests U.S. military could be behind border incident
Six Killed in Truck Crash - Truck Carrying Illegals Runs Stop Sign

This issue has been ignored for so long, with the exception of short bursts of rhetoric before each election, I wonder if these politicians give a damn.
About the only way to get their attention seems to involve a big campaign contribution.

The Coming Explosion From Mexico
So far as I know, no illegal immigrant apprehended entering from Mexico has been found to have a link to terrorists. Not yet, anyhow. There is no reason to suspect that the four Iraqis arrested today in Mexico headed toward the US are any differe ……

Great pictures. I have been very upset with national immigration policy and specifically Tennessee policy. The “ID’s” that are being tested in Tennessee have made us a magnet for illegals from all over. It is costing the taxpayers more than we can stand.
I’m in Decaturville.
