I can't tell you how this sickens and upsets me. What I would like to know - how will these dollars be accountable? Who gets the money and how is it to be spent? Will this be used by the Palestinian schools to teach their children to hate the West and Israel? Will this be used to fund the private bank account of Hezzbolah? Will this be used to fund the private bank account for Abbas? This is why the announcement disturbs me so much. What are the safeguards to be built into this "Aid" money to assure American taxpayers these dollars will not be funding terrorism? Do I have much confidence in the ability to assure this won't happen. Nope I don't. Why does the US continue down this track with the Palestinians before it is proved they are willing to walk the talk. Why would the US pour money into a group known for deceit and lies?

The United States pledges to give the Palestinian Authority $40 million over the coming 90 days as part of a quick-action program to aid and ease the lives of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice announced at a joint press conference with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah Monday afternoon.

The US government will send the PA a total of $340 million in the coming year, Rice said.
