This was an interesting test. In a recent posting James Joyner of Outside the Beltway talks about: Why So Few Female Pundits? So, now Bunker has a link to a tool which guesses at your gender based on a sample of your writing. So I used a posting which was just based on weather and an event I was going to be attending. I at least got close to 400 words for the test. Had tried several times by inserting text from a few postings most of which were between 250 and 300 words, all came out Male.

When you correct the guess this is the response one gets:

According to Koppel and Argamon, the algorithm should predict the gender of the author approximately 80% of the time.
