1/22/2005 06:49:52 AM|||Toni|||Update: Sat. morning: Yikes, it looks like a blizzard out there. Cold, very windy and the snow is drifting. I now have a very nice wall of snow diagonally across the middle of my driveway. Nanook will have to emerge to take care of this situation. I'm hoping the weather clears up as the day go forward. Kelly (The Patriette) and I are planning on attending the Northern Alliance blog get together late this afternoon at Keegan's in NE Mpls.
I just saw the little weather link I have on the right and it said light snow. Personally I don't consider what we are getting right now light. I'd say we've got about 5" and it's still coming down at a good clip. I think the local weather guys are saying another 5" to 7" with it tapering off after midnight. Now, not that this is a lot of snow for this area but we haven't really gotten any snow this winter season. I finally had to drag the snow blower out of my shed when I got home from work. Course, the door on the shed was frozen shut from the sleet we've had this month. Finally get the door open and try to start the thing and of course, didn't start. Next, I struggle in pushing it up to the driveway (there's a little hill) but with 5" of snow a person can't get much traction ya know! Get it into the garage and try to start it again, OF COURSE, it started right up. Guess it just wanted me to have to struggle for a bit before cooperating. I did a sloppy once over of the driveway since I'll end up going out in the morning again anyway. Besides, it's blowing like crazy and the snow is just drifting here and there. I shouldn't complain since it could be 20 degrees below zero like it was last Friday. And, at least the snow had the decency to wait til the weekend so my morning commute wouldn't be a white knuckle drive.
I do know some people are real happy cause I can see the lights going in a steady stream across the bay as they travel the favorite snowmobile route in the area.
